In Brief
  • Bill Nye will be returning in April with a science-themed talk show on Netflix, in which he'll tackle science topics such as global warming, GMOs, and much else.
  • The show, called "Bill Nye Saves the World," will explore the universe through panel discussions, correspondent reports, and lab experiments.

What do global warming and sex have in common? Dirty emissions and unwanted consequences, you say? Well, that may be true…but that’s not the point of this article, and we’re getting off topic.

Truth is, both are subjects that resident science guy Bill Nye will cover in his latest show on Netflix. Bill Nye Saves the World is an upcoming science talk show that explores scientific issues ranging from space exploration to fad diets. Specifically, the show will cover relevant science topics like global warming, GMOs, alternative medicine, and even sex.

With its talk show format, Bill Nye Saves the World tackles science issues and concepts via lively panel discussions, extensive correspondent reports, and of course lab experiments in good ol’ Nye fashion. The show matches Bill Nye’s special blend of lab procedure and sly personality with guests that include Wil Wheaton, Joel McHale, Tim Gunn, and even Steve Aoki.

Bill Nye, who usually appears on his shows in a lab coat and bow tie get-up, is a mechanical engineer by training. He became a popular science educator and television presenter in PBS’ children science show called Bill Nye the Science Guy, which ran for a good five seasons from 1993 to 1998. Now, he’s up to save the world in his upcoming Netflix series.

The show Bill Nye Saves the World will be available only on Netflix starting April 21 of this year.
